About

Founded in 2006 in Sacramento, Teatro Nagual (TeNa) became an incorporated nonprofit in 2009. We are a theatre company dedicated to creating brave, inclusive spaces where art, culture, and community intersect. Through bold, bilingual storytelling, we bring together artists, educators, and scientists to share knowledge, spark dialogue, and inspire change.

Our work empowers, educates, and uplifts communities through performances that are emotionally resonant and socially relevant. Rooted in values of love, acceptance, and respect for our communities and Mother Earth, we center the voices and stories of those most often unheard.

Services

TeNa’s work lives at the intersection of performance, social justice, and education. From stage productions to mobile theatrical experiences, we create innovative programming that fosters connection, healing, and unity across our community.

Classes

We are committed to growing the next generation of Latino/a/x/e teaching artists.

We offer mentorship, workshops, and practical experience to help young artists develop the skills needed to inspire and educate future generations. By focusing on this work, we ensure that our community’s cultural heritage continues to thrive and that diverse voices are represented in the arts.
