CLARA believes that the arts enrich lives — and access to quality arts education has the potential to transform a child’s future. In an unprecedented partnership, CLARA and her tenants provide in-school artist residencies, workshops, internships, tickets, and scholarships for SCUSD students.
CLARA’s home at the historic Fremont School is possible thanks to an innovative partnership with Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD). The District has donated use of the building on a long-term lease, allowing our tenants to pay drastically reduced rental and facilities costs. In return, the tenants pay forward their “rent” in the form of arts education programs for SCUSD students.
In the 21-22 school year, CLARA and her tenants provided more than 6,500 SCUSD students with over 20,000 hours of live arts education across all grade levels, with an additional 85,000 students served through our digital platform, CLARA Classroom. We continue to grow rapidly and look forward to reaching even more students next year.
CLARA now proudly offers in-school artists residencies, after-school classes, field-trips, professional development, and summer camp programs to the greater Sacramento County region. Learn more about our programs through the navigation bar at right.
