Fusion Bellydancing Workshop with Anastasia Raskin
Anastasia took her first Fusion Bellydance class in 2006 with Amy Sigil at Hot Pot Studios in Sacramento, Ca. Anastasia fell in love with Fusion Bellydance and its contrast of soft & strong movements, articulate isolations, usage of muscle control and musicality, and its creative expression.
Since that first Bellydance Class, Anastasia has attended hundreds of hours of classes, workshops and intensives with dozens of instructors, including Amy Sigil, Zoe Jakes, Kami Liddle, Rachel Brice, Jill Parker, Ebony Qualls, Ariellah, and others. Anastasia began actively teaching and performing in 2015, and has had the opportunity to instruct and perform at events and venues throughout the West Coast.
In her day job as a massage therapist, Anastasia has familiarized herself with muscle groups and kinesiology, and applies her knowledge of anatomy and body mechanics to help her dance students safely and effectively execute movements. Anastasia loves igniting (or rekindling) a passion for dance in her students.

On Saturday, May 14, join us for a behind-the-scenes look at our in-school artist residency programs. Teaching artist Bianca Patterson and education outreach director Emili Danz will lead you in an interactive afternoon of play that will provide uplifting fun for all ages and abilities.
What’s the discipline? That’s part of the fun — it’s a surprise (but as the title indicates…something musical)! Like all our in-school programs, this workshop prioritizes process over product: CLARA’s programs use the arts to build curiosity, resiliency, and confidence to try new things. We ask our kids to trust us, and we’re asking you to do the same. We can promise the program is accessible to all, and no one will be asked to do anything that makes them uncomfortable.
90-minute class begins shortly after 3pm. Light drinks and snacks will be served after class, so you can socialize with friends, CLARA staff, and others.
This event is free to friends of CLARA who donate over $100 to our organization through Big Day of Giving on Thursday, May 5.
TwoPoint4 Dance Theatre presents: Fragmented Memories 2.4
Fragmented Memories 2.4 is a remount of the highly successful performance that premiered in the Sacramento Area in 2019 bringing a multi-dimensional, sensory show using sight, sound, taste and touch to audiences senses. The work is inspired and choreographed by TwoPoint4 Artistic Director, Tony Nguyen and co-choreographed with the performing artists. Throughout the evening, performers will share piece of their past journeys centered around the concept of memories and our own inner demons using the ocean as a metaphor. The powerful journey is designed to surface who we are at our depths not only from the performers but from audience member too. Be ready to shift through the evening as the performance unfolds throughout the space, even through the intermission with curated hors doeuvres and crafted adult and kid-friendly refreshments.
COVID Protocol: To ensure all audience and performer safety, we will be requiring a confirmation of your vaccination or proof of a negative covid test within the last 48 hours. During the performance, all audience members will be required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth as the performers will be maskless throughout the show.

Join 5Rhythms dance!
The five rhythms are: flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness. Each rhythm is a teacher and as you practice moving, your relationship to body, heart, mind, soul and spirit deepens. Some people feel right at home from the get-go and others feel a bit (or a lot) self-conscious. People in the room have a wide range of experience. Your own dance will be unique. It can be subtle, powerful, revealing and, over time, it can be transformative.
Weekly dance practice is at the Auditorium at CLARA.
Sunday mornings 10AM – 12PM
Wednesday nights 6:30PM – 8:30PM
