Sacramento Harp Ensemble presents an Evening of Music

Offering an evening of hope and inspiration to our community, The Center for Cultural & Naturalist Studies, a Nevada County nonprofit service organization, is hosting a free multimedia event at the Auditorium at CLARA on May 2, 7 pm. The event will explore how service to others combined with inner work on consciousness can add meaning to our lives and be an uplifting force, particularly during these troubled times.

Sacramento’s DANCE JAM was a family-friendly, non-alcoholic, community dance party that was held for seven years in the 1980s.  Dancers of all ages came together to celebrate their love for music and free expression in dance monthly.

COME DANCE YOUR HEART OUT! is about having FUN dancing to some of the best dance tracks from over six decades.  Dance your style and let’s jam at the beautiful CLARA Auditorium.

Space is limited, so advance tickets on Eventbrite are encouraged. Tickets $10 at the door.   Children 10 and under are free.  
 
Water will be provided courtesy of Seasons Coffee with select beverages and pastries also available for purchase.  
This is a donation-based event with the net proceeds going to MERCY PEDALERS, serving those folks living on our community’s streets.  See you there !

Come recalibrate…this is so NOT boot camp! Pleasure-based mat skills w/ foam rollers & balls to free up tight fascia.  Fire up core power with psoas intimacy.  Length for the tightest muscles. Breath weaving it all together. A fine-tuned body-awareness fosters self-care confidence.  Because even five minutes of the right care makes all the difference in the world. Come breathe, come feel, come change.

Provided: balls & one foot rollers, varying density (correct density so important!)

Recommended: bring three foot roller & mat.

Recorded: for home practice support.

Large space to spread out.  If you don’t feel well, have a fever, currently have Covid, or are within a 10-day window of exposure or infection, please do not come to class. You are welcome to wear a mask.

We are bringing in the holiday season with a Holiday SLAMtacular Holiday Party! Join us for food, fun, games, live performances, dancing, good vibes and more.

About The Event

This year’s Holiday SLAMtacular is dedicated to giving back to those who are underprivileged and have not had the opportunity to celebrate the holidays in style.  Through this event, we will welcome families who need support, provide a platform for local artists to share their talent and connect with the community, and support and provide a platform for local vendors to come together to support the underprivileged.  We will provide entertainment, food, games, fun, and so much more!  Our goal is to give the community a chance to experience the fun and long-lasting memories of the holidays like never before.

The CLARA Teaching Artist Training Series is an eight-month program designed to support artists who wish to develop their teaching skills to bring their art form into a classroom setting.

IN THIS SERIES…
Artists will learn the fundamental tools necessary to teach their craft in K-12 school classrooms. Workshops will address specific topics such as strengthening relationships in the classroom, establishing procedures and capturing attention, effective communication strategies in individual and group settings, lesson plan design and structure, and California visual and performing arts (VAPA) learning standards.

THESE WORKSHOPS WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH

  • Strategies and tools to make arts learning in the classroom a success.
  • Customizable content that can be adapted to any arts discipline and grade level.
  • Facilitated collaboration among other artists that leads to new approaches to learning.
  • Practice teaching hours in a live, in-person classroom
  • Access to future job opportunities as a CLARA Teaching Artist

Workshops are held monthly from 1-4pm at the CLARA Auditorium and at our partner school site (location TBA).
