Interested in unique, intriguing world music and dance? Want to try some traditional Balkan dancing? Come to our Zado Eastern European Vocal Ensemble January 20, 2024 concert featuring Tzvetanka, Tanya, & Ivan Varimezovi ( Varimezovi Band ), world-acclaimed vocalists, musicians, and educators from Bulgaria. Join us for an evening of singing and music followed by dancing where everyone can join in Balkan line dances. Feel free to wear an ethnic costume for the festivities. Performances by Zado and the Varimezovi family include songs from Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, and Ukraine. The Bulgarian dance party is led by the Varimezovi Band where everyone in the audience is invited to dance. The dancing includes simple dances that young and old can do as well as several more complex dances for local folk dance enthusiasts. This event is supported in part by federal award G17609000awarded to Zado by the U.S. Department of the Treasury through the City of Sacramento.
Join 5Rhythms dance!
The five rhythms are: flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness. Each rhythm is a teacher and as you practice moving, your relationship to body, heart, mind, soul and spirit deepens. Some people feel right at home from the get-go and others feel a bit (or a lot) self-conscious. People in the room have a wide range of experience. Your own dance will be unique. It can be subtle, powerful, revealing and, over time, it can be transformative.
Weekly dance practice is at the Auditorium at CLARA.

It’s time to take things seriously less seriously. The Ridiculum Curriculum is the deep and intensive study of the execution of hilarity for your survival as a human being in the ridiculous times. It’s a program for mental stability by lightening the heck up!Armed with thousands of hours of Yoga, Dance, Meditation, Ceremonies and Psychedelics, these Ass-ended masters really have something to share. It’s time to take a deep breath and receive some joy. This will be an evening of searing wit, wisdom and audience participatory revelations. The Ridiculum Curriculum Tour promises instant enlightenment through levity and laughter!
