A rarity indeed for Bill Evan’s Sunday at the Village Vanguard, to be performed at The Midtown Vanguard Jazz Series on a Sunday… If you don’t act quickly and purchase a ticket for this show, you may definitely find yourself left out! The masterful pianist and longtime Bobby Hutcherson collaborator performs the record in it’s entirety: Bill Evans’ legendary 1961 Riverside trio recordings from the Village Vanguard.

MVJ asked Joe: What about the second set? and Joe had this to say: “As far as repertoire, we could definitely do different pieces from that same era, like VERY EARLY, MILESTONES, NARDIS, ON GREEN DOLPHIN STREET, PERI’S SCOPE.”

There have been many defining moments at Midtown Vanguard Jazz Series over the last two years… This will be undoubtedly also be one of them.
