Devin Valdez rejoined CLARA in August 2025 as an education program manager, working to bring in-school artist residencies to students in Elk Grove, Natomas, and Sacramento City Unified School Districts. In prior years she worked with CLARA as a teaching artist, and as the organization’s development and community engagement coordinator.
Devin has been a theatre educator since 2015. Her commitment to a professional career in theatre and her passion for equity in the arts lead her to pursue training with Focus5 Inc. – a program focused on aligning arts integration inside the classrooms.
Devin proudly holds a degree in Theatre Arts from California State University Sacramento and has performed professionally with Capital Stage and Sacramento Theatre Company in various productions including THE WICKHAMS: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY, MISS BENNET, MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS, THE WOLVES (#45), HAMLET and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM. Her recent directing credits include CHICKEN AND BISCUITS at Celebration Arts, POTUS at Big Idea Theatre, and WAITING FOR GODINEZ at Teatro Espejo. She remains committed to social justice and ensuring equitable artistic representation and inclusion in all opportunities!
As an established Sacramento actor and theatre arts educator, Devin is over-the-moon to apply her stage and instructional experiences to the mission of CLARA.
