Sacramento native Jodie Gates stages her neo-classical Embellish, described by The New York Times as “fluent and theatrically savvy.” Gates is Vice Dean and Director of USC’s Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, and former artist with the Joffrey and Frankfurt Ballets.

We pair this with Seiwert’s interpretation of Richard Maunder’s edition of Mozart’s famously unfinished Requiem. The San Francisco Chronicle praised “…the sheer expansiveness of (Seiwert’s) vision… an intensely focused work.”

Princess Grace Choreography Fellowship Award winner Darrell Grand Moultrie has choreographed for performers as diverse as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Savion Glover, and Beyoncé. A Sacramento Ballet audience favorite, this will be Darrell’s fifth work for our company. The world premiere will feature live music performed by soprano Carrie Hennessy, flautist Cathie Apple and pianist Jennifer Reason.
